BWB Consulting are a leading UK engineering and environmental consultancy. Established for 20 years and with offices across the UK they work with clients across a range of industry sectors from small scale straightforward projects to complex urban regeneration projects of regional economic and social importance.
Paul Collins, Financial Director at BWB Consulting realised the need for a structured and well organised approach to BWB’s IT infrastructure. Paul had worked with Kilco in a previous role and was aware of their reputation. Paul explains “Kilco provide us with a structured and well organised approach to IT. They started by providing outsourced service desk solutions and remote first line support and we have since worked with them on a number of other projects.”
Roger Kilcommons, Managing Director at Kilco states: “The team at Kilco have built up a good relationship with BWB Consulting. It’s great that we have been asked to be involved in more and more projects and that they can benefit from the knowledge and expertise of our staff.”
Paul goes on to explain that it’s not just about the affordability that Kilco offers, “Kilco are good value for money but their approach also fits very well with BWB. They are nice people and have really bothered to build a partnership approach to working with us playing a fundamental part in the business. It’s not just about what we need them to do but they have also helped and provided input in other ways.”
As a professional services firm with offices nationwide there is a real need to ensure that the IT function of the business is well structured. Kilco provide BWB Consulting with a structured approach to issue resolution and Paul explains how the availability of their expertise is valued, “We value the contribution Kilco make to the strategic IT planning of the business. They are really helping us to shape the future of our business.” says Paul.
G4S Care and Justice Services, Secure Estate.
G4S is the largest secure solutions company in the UK and Ireland, with a turnover of more than £1 billion and over 40,000 employees managed from over 80 offices. For the past fourteen years Kilco have been working specifically with the Care and Justice Services Division.
As Stuart Stephen, IT Manager at G4S, explains “We first came across Kilco over 14 years ago when our previous contractor was not performing. We have been successfully working with Kilco ever since and have received a variety of different systems and support services from large bespoke systems to small little fixes.”
Over the years Kilco have put together a variety of bespoke software programmes for G4S – one of the first, a Facilities Management system, is still in place today and enables G4S to effectively track assets. Roger Kilcommons, Managing Director of Kilco Ltd comments “We have developed a number of systems for G4S, the facilities management system, for example, allows the organisation to have what is essentially an assets register which diarises planned and unplanned maintenance. This ensures the facilities department is well organised and in control of their jobs and in-house stock”.
Kilco have also written a bespoke management system that enables G4S to successfully track business in transit and provide these records to the government in an efficient manner. Stephen continues, “The systems that Kilco have put in place provide us with valuable management information allowing better decisions to be made within the organisation”.
Stuart goes on to explain the key things that stand out and differentiate Kilco from other providers, “Kilco have a dedication and commitment to resolve problems – their tenacity ensures the job is done and that you are provided with great software. Also, their availability is an asset – you know you can call them day or night. I would also say they always deliver an excellent service at great value for money. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Kilco and in fact have done so on several occasions”.
